Inconsistencies in guidelines

There's a couple of rules at the top on style.  Those are:

* Don't put multiple statements on a single line, and
* Put braces around single line conditional statements

But then, in the section on implementing the Dispose pattern properly, there's things like:

public void DoSomething()
   {
      if (disposed)
          throw new ObjectDisposedException(...);

       // Now call some native methods using the resource
   }

and

protected virtual void Dispose(bool disposing)
   {
       // Protect from being called multiple times.
       if (disposed) return;
