Why some Source Code is deleted?

Aug 14, 2012 at 9:52 AM

I found that in the changeset 55719 some source code was deleted. This is the changeset comment Delete CSShellExtContextMenuHandler and VBShellExtPropSheetHandler.

Why do you remove some very useful examples?

Thanks

Yes. I am interested in the same.

Also blogposts "Windows Shell Extension with .NET Framework 4" doesn't exist now.

Hello

These Windows Shell code samples were removed because writing Windows Shell Extension using .NET 4 is not supported.  We posted a blog in http://blogs.msdn.com/b/onecode:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/codefx/archive/2011/01/04/is-it-officially-supported-to-write-windows-shell-extension-using-net-4-today.aspx

Thanks for your understanding.

Dear Jialiang,

maybe it is not officially supported but it is working. I have an implementation based on your code sample in production and it is doing just fine. I consider that a great example, maybe should be there with a note that is not officially supported. It is a shame that a sample like that is not easily downloadable.

Cheers
